The Ugly :
Nothing. Honestly nothing horrible or downright offensive. Enough of that then.
The Mediocre :
1) Audition. I just couldn't get into the song no matter how hard I tried. At first the song sounded good but it seemed to drag and switch up styles a little too often, which sometimes I could get into but sometimes it doesn't work for me. These were one of those times. The 2 kudos I will give is that it has a great chorus and pretty good lyrics.
2) The Instrumentals
While I will openly admit the mantras and instrumentals were far from bad, they kind of left me wanting a little bit more of that style, and not because I hate your voice. I enjoy when I can just listen to music without thinking it's a freedom that is very seldom in today's music. The instrumentals were a little too short though. Good, but short.
The Good :
The whole album is really something to admire. The fact that JP was able to record this album within 29 days is an amazing feat on his own, and I would not have blamed JP one bit of the album was even a little sub-par. Luckily though that was not the case, Songs from Ashamed to Get Away From me to Go get it tug at emotions and can leave you feeling all different emotions. Each word in every line in each of the aforementioned songs just seem to fir perfectly.
JP seems to take the word Lullaby to a whole different level, as each lullaby (Lullaby of Candide & Lullaby of Sikander) seem to take a twist in each individual one. Lullaby of Candide starts off really soft and lovely and by the chorus it seems far from a Lullaby and then turns around and influences styles of both angelic & hard rock music.
The Great :
The Impact.
Quite possibly JP's greatest single piece of work he's recorded. (keeping in mind the amazingness that was An Object of My Affection) The aspect I love most of the song is that it is so universal and everyone can relate to the song, truly amazing stuff.
